WHMIS is short form for Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System. It is very important because it shows workers information what they need to work safely with the products. Some components are classification and symbols, warning labels and Materials Safety Data Sheets (http://www.hs101.ca/hs_booklet.pdf).

Classification and Symbols: Identifies dangerous products. It shows symbols to show what they do and why it is dangerous.

Warning labels: All materials that are considered hazardous have a warning label. It contains very important information like, product identifier, hazard symbols to show the dangers associated with the material, risk phrases, precautionary measures and first aid measures. It also has a very distinctive border so that it can be seen.

Material Safety Data Sheet: Shows information about material and how use and store safely. Examples of what it must include are Hazardous Ingredient, Physical Data and Fire or Explosion Data
